Half-Birthday Party!!! (times three)

(This post is only about a month late... but I didn't want to change the date, for fear you might miss reading about all our birthday fun!)

So, for those of you who don't know... our whole family has birthdays in December. The wise Mommy decided, several years back that this was a bum deal - so she moved the big birthday celebration for the kids to their half-birthday. So in June (or sometimes July, if Mommy is behind schedule... can't imagine THAT ever happening) I manage to throw a BIG BASH inviting lots of little people and serving way too much sugar!!! This year we had a total of fifteen kids! The first one arrived an hour early, at noon - the last ones left a "few" hours late after 8:00pm! The schedule for parties here can be pretty intense, and I guess I neglected to be firm about the ending time of the festivities. However, the girls thought it was a great bonus to have friends stay over for the evening - and it was nice to have some friends to entertain them while the sugar rush turned into a sugar crash... not too shabby an idea (I'll have to remember that for next year. We had some games outside and bobbing for apples on the porch, and modeling clay to keep everyone entertained inside. Steven and his friend spent most of their birthday partying time in his room "away from all those girls!" unfortunately his other buddies were unavailable to come, but he and Resq managed to have a blast regardless!
