Fun in the Sun

Ahhhh vacation! The kids are finally adjusting to being the only kids on the block, and still manage to have fun! Steven got two bicycles and three helmets with his movie making money and gave one bike to his sisters. Unfortunately he also had to spend some of his money on a three tube repair kits, one bicycle pump... and eventually a new tire, a new tube, and a service charge to have the wheels done by someone other than Mom (who was getting really tired of fixing bicycles - and cracked her finger into a giant bruise with a very hefty wrench before she was through). Sadly, the affordable bikes also came with a fix it yourself clause, which we have done since the day we bought them, and continue to do... (note, the picture of the red bike, Steven's, upside down) But, when the bikes are working, the kids are getting a workout down at the track and in the empty parking lots.







You will notice in this picture of Steven, he is not on his new red bike (the chain kept falling off) and he is sporting his new safety glasses ( a gift from Miss Paula) and in the background above his head is a part of a mural that was painted by three of my inspired art students as their final project!








The kids have become enamored with this little dog, Lacey, who often gets her exercise when one of the girls takes her for a walk. I am pretty sure that Lacy thinks she is one of the gang and Gillian (pictured with her here) agrees!










The school has been doing lots of improvements including a new track and field - complete with a long jump which the kids had fun testing out. Here are some fun pictures of their running long jumps:





Little Lacy, who was with us to get some exercise also had a blast trying the long jump... although her jumps were considerably shorter than the kids.
