Artsy Fartsy

I have finally had a chance to do a bit of artsy fartsy stuff and thought you might enjoy checking it out.

This is a watercolor painting that I actually started last year, before I got here, but the folks I was painting it for are moving back to the states shortly, so I had to stop procrastinating and just get it done so they could take it with them.

Black Coffee
This is a recording of me singing the opening song at our Festival of the Arts 2007 (if it doesn't work, know that I am working on the link, and check back soon to see if it is finally working - or just leave harassing comments, either way is fine with me! I seem to only be able to get it to play with the low bitrate... but it is not a great recording, so the higher sample rate couldn't be much better.)

This was a quick sketch I did for a friend's birthday (gotta love those artsy gifts when you are broke!) unfortunately it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, hard to get a good likeness when you are pressed for time. But it was wonderful to be zoned in on something creative for a few hours - a nice change from crabby/wild kids and crabbier/wilder students. I can sure tell spring is in the air and the end of school is getting near

I'm not sure why you mention that the drawing didn't turn out so well...I liked it a lot, and I thought it was quite good.

Thanks d. (blush) I guess it is just the perfectionist in me... always wanting it just a bit better than I managed. I tell my art students that it is something they will probably struggle with too, and instead of using it to diminish their work, they can use it to spur on better work! Maybe, someday I'll do another one of you and it will be even better!
