Tasha's BIRTHDAY!!

We got to enjoy Tasha's birthday party (almost two weeks ago, sorry for the belated post) along with the rest of the remnant - it was a blast! We had a cookout on the back porch, lots of burgers and halal hot-dogs along with chips, fresh watermelon, potato salad and all kinds of goodies for desert!! The kids enjoyed playing with the dogs, tossing a football, playing tag, watching a video (later on) and eating lots of cake of course! The cake was beautiful even if we had trouble lighting it...(see picture below, with Abby holding up a sheet of cardboard to keep the wind at bay). It was fun to visit, spending time with old friends and making new ones. After the first wave of guests left, I got to stay up with a group of crazy card players as Tasha taught them all how to play spoons! (For those of you who haven't played spoons, you are really missing out!) Even though I didn't have a common language with most of them, we had no problems communicating. We laughed and joked and made such a ruckus that the kids kept complaining we were too noisy and they ended up going into the kitchen where they could hear. The party was a great success and Tasha was a phenomenal hostess and gracious birthday girl - way to go Tasha!
