Family pictures

We decided it was time for a new family picture - so we rigged up a backdrop (a locally made rug draped over chairs on top of the dining table) and propped the camera up on the bookshelf across from us, set to wait ten seconds then take ten pictures.

Gillian helped me test it out and when we had things all set we called in the rest of the troops.

Of course it was tricky to push the button while still leaving the camera in the correct position, so there were a even few pictures without Mom, but as you can see... still very entertaining.

I think this picture, with all the giggles, was preceded by a knock knock joke that had a punchline of nothing more than... "poop" - somehow, that word always makes kids giggle.

Some of the pictures were unusable because someone was looking at the mirror instead of the camera (see example to the right). Some were unusable because siblings were elbowing each other, and some were unusable because Mom slipped an fell while running to the set. It was a riot to say the least.... filled with bribes, silly jokes, and even a few tears before we were through - but all's well that ends well - and this session ended with a cup of hot chocolate with a marshmallow for everyone!
