Friday night, after a particularly grueling day - I decided to go to our rooftop to look at the stars. It was a clear night, crisp and cool, with a breeze that blew through my worn sweater, causing me to shiver. As I was stargazing, something near the horizon caught my eye. I looked over toward the royal palace, and there, floating effortlessly in the sky was the sparkling phenomenon pictured here. The street-lights at the bottom of the picture are right on the coastline, where the water meets the beach, and the UFO hovered directly above them, moving silently, slowly to the left. I rubbed my eyes and looked again. "I don't believe in UFOs!" I said to myself. It was still there... causing the chill to seep into my bones. After a moment of dismay, logic took over and I remembered myself saying to one of my art students, "I know it doesn't seem right to have the horizon line so much higher than the coastline, but it really is- trust me!" Then some friends came up to join me on the roof, and they said it was common to see British cruise ships so close, apparently their clientèle are enamored with royalty.
I waved, my best princess-on-a-float wave, but I didn't see anyone wave back.

I think it's the next step in David's Metamorphosis, from that previous post.
