The thing that really BUGs me about this place...
This was a few weeks ago... but now that I am blogging, I just want to share with everyone a picture of one of our recent visitors.
I walked into my bedroom one sunny, breezy afternoon to find this not-so-little guy hanging out on my screen door, perhaps waiting for me to let him in for a visit....
Needless to say, I was rude and didn't let him in - gave him the paparazzi treatment and was thrilled when one of the girls flicked him down to the first floor amongst some bushes (whereupon all the neighborhood
I asked a few people what they thought it was, but got no specific replies. So, I am counting on you, Abdul, to let me know what kind of creature this is. (My guess is that he is some kind of moth... attracted by my flaming beauty? LOL No comments on that one please!)
...and if this guy isn't weird enough for your tastes... check out these strange creatures! (CLICK HERE)

Sorry. Obviously it's a moth, but beyond that, I wouldn't know. Ask Lisa- she's got a book of Mediterranean wildlife that we sometimes were able to find local organisms in.
Come to think of it, that's a pretty big moth.
Have you seen David recently?
Have you read Metamorphosis?
Okay, seriously, how big is that thing?
so... I didn't get out the ruler to measure it... but it looked to be a bit bigger than the handle for the screen door. It was very docile... but so were those creatures that turned into Gremlins at night... you haven't been leaving any food out down there have you?
OK Jeanine. I'm sorry, but I just took your city off my list of places to visit! That thing is enormous. I would have totally freaked out if I saw that in person. (Can you tell - bugs aren't my thing).
Thanks for the updates. I enjoy reading the blog and seeing the pics.
Love,
Delynn
You don't even want to imagine what would happen if that moth was in the same room with me. I'm glad it's cold enough here to kill off most of the really freaky stuff.
