After school activities

Sometimes, afterschool all the kids end up in my room as I finish up, or clean up, or just sit down and breathe for a moment. They love this time - and explore their artistic talents as they each fill their own section of my whiteboard with original pictures and prose! On this day Abby left me a note that said, "I love Miss Selix, She is the best teacher in the world and she smells as sweet as a nice sweet flower in a beautiful garden!"

Steven is still facinated by our front-loading washing machine. We are the only apartment in our building with our own private washer... They had one extra and wisely decided that the lady with three kids needed it the most! Thanks, Father, for looking out for me! I bet He even knew that it would provide a means of entertainment too! Who needs TV?

From time to time I have treated the kids to a cheaper version of "Nutella" as a snack (a chocolate-hazelnutt spread). Steven is here enjoying himself and making a very nice mess with his Nutella! (I have since discovered that Hazelnuts must bother me too (I get an itchy raw mouth)- and since chocolate in the house is irresistable for me, we don't get this anymore...)

Seeing the pics of the kids at the chalkboard took me back to when you and Toby used to visit my classroom after school at Ballou and play while I worked. Remember that?

I only remember a teeny bit... as if I only visited once... perhaps my memories of hanging out there just all jelled together. In any case, whatever scrap of memory I had left... was a fond one!
