Catered food!

Two of the families here blessed us with dinner our first few nights! We had Pizza (the cheeze wasn't Mozzarella, but it was delicious anyway!) then roasted chicken with potatoes, then Harrirah (or Harera depending on who you ask... Arabic words are hard to transliterate) Here is a picture of Gillian after her first taste. Harera is a soup that is used to break the fasting during Ramadan. They had a Volley ball game here the other night and there were leftovers of this mild tomato-beef soup which they shared with us.

mmmm Harira. I'm trying to find a place where I can at least by the canned version around here. Miss it. For our potluck today at NSF I did the best I could- brought in some dates and brown boiled eggs. People thought the brown was rather novel. I'd forgotten that it's rare here.
I didn't know they put dates and boiled eggs in Harira...
Usually on the side, actually.
