Playing and playing and playing!

My kids made friends quickly - they have really been enjoying all of the outside play time they have here - and have even invited a few friends up to their rooms to play. I imagine that the kids who have lived here for a while are happy to have "fresh blood" and new toys to share!

...here they are enjoying the wind and their new sheets. There is usually a nice breeze here which makes it refreshing when things are a bit too warm and muggy. I have hardly noticed the heat (mostly in the 80's) during the day, but in the evenings we have already taken to closing all the windows.

Steven and Janae are like two peas in a pod - she is currently trying to teach him how to ride a bycicle without training wheels (not pictured) and she tells him, "I can't beleive you don't know how to do this already!" Janae is a year younger than Steven and is homeschooled. When the girls invited her over to play she told them that she was, "in the boys club" and promptly headed for Steven's room to play "boy club" stuff. The girls have nursed their hurt feelings and have enjoyed spending time with many of the other girls in the area. Janae has a little sister who loves to have the girls "mommy" her. Here, she is pictured with Abby. It's tricky telling them apart as their names are so similar... Addy and Abby.

Steven ejoys the fact that we are on a hill - there is an expanse of green for playing soccor (football) and there are still rocks to climb and dirt to play in!

There is a "community" scooter that belongs to one of the older boys who graciously lets all the kids take turns on it. It is a great tool for learning balance... and I am wondering if I brought enough band-aids!
