Around the world in 227 Days
It was the package with Steven's birthday gifts in it - mailed on Nov. 23, 2007 and never arrived at it's destination in North Africa. We feared that it had been stolen or damaged and eventually Grandma replaced the hand-made bathrobe and miscellaneous toy gifts that she had sent. Steven was ever-so-patient for a 7 year old boy who was prevented from receiving his birthday gifts from Grandma, and enjoyed the replacement gifts.
To our surprise, this package was in the mailbox (of the return address, which we just happen to be visiting) today, July 7, 2008. It appears to be unharmed, unopened and unaccompanied by an apology or explanation letter. It also appears that we now hold the record for the "better late than never" category of lost and finally arrived packages through the US Postal Service.

Congratulations! You beat my old record by more than six months. That's certainly something for me to shoot for this year.
Maybe the lesson here is to never mail gifts during the month of November.
