Tecktonik... the latest dance craze to intterupt class

My students, almost exclusively the boys, have often been reprimanded with something that sounds like, "Please put your tektonik dancing behind back in your seat, and save the dancing for after (art/drama/library)." If you haven't heard about this new dance craze, that is reported to have begun in France - check out the video clip of our end of year performance below. Thankfully we have found an appropriate outlet for all this energy... too bad it's the end of the school year and they won't need to sit in their seats much longer. This clip shows the 5th and 6th graders doing the dancing part of their rap/dance performance. The girls are doing a modified swing, and the boys (and a few brave girls) are dancing tektonik.
