wallaboolis (or at least that's what Steven says)

I recently visited an archaeological site of Roman Ruins. There were many happy facets to the trip:
-I got to drive
-the scenery was beautiful on the way there- especially the bright turquoise lakes we passed
-I was with Friends
-my children were all at school and not with me
-I got to wander around on my own with my camera when we arrived (without anyone expecting me to "take a tour" or "stay with the group")
-I didn't get in trouble for going where I probably wasn't allowed... when I was feeling artistically inspired and wanted to get just the right picture.
-I got to laugh a lot
-the weather was great
-I got lots of artsy photos (which I will not post here, I'll spare you)
My friend says that I am a pronunciation snob because I like to say the name of this ancient ruin... um... correctly. (smile)
Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what I saw there:

Wonderful photos! Are my eyes playing tricks on me, or is there an eagle on the top of one of the columns in the arches photograph?
It could be an eagle’s nest, but somehow storks strike me as more likely.
