Art Show

Gillian had a piece of her artwork chosen to represent her school in the district's art show. The gallery opening was tonight so we all went to check it out and be proud of her. The piece is called "Cylinder City" and was part of an art class exercise.

I got to meet her art teacher who said that she was sorry for the short notice, but Gillian had just finished the piece last week and she "...thought it just HAD to be in the show!" Gillian we are proud of you!

The gallery is throughout the academic hallways that surround the Royal Durst Theatre. It is a pretty impressive place and is the district's magnet school for the Arts. Afterward we got to have fun climbing on an artistic piece of sculpture outside and had to be artsy fartsy and take pictures with the brooding sky in the background. When it finally started to rain we all packed up and went out to Pizza Hut with Miss Freathy (the girls' second grade teacher from our time in N. Africa) for old times sake. (No, the waiter didn't give her crayons this time.)
