Family pictures 2009

Just like there is never a perfect time to start a family... there is also never a perfect time to pose for a family portrait. So, why not take pictures when it's really supposed to be bedtime - and everyone is tired and cranky? I'm an optimist! (or perhaps insane...)
We did the timer thing where it pauses for ten seconds then takes a series of ten pictures (been there, done that, Mom gets lots of exercise running back and forth to the camera, and often gets injured in the process) but we kept having trouble getting a good shot. This time the kids were injuring each other while I ran back and forth.
It is absolutely hilarious to look back at the series frame by frame and see one child disappearing from one frame - then the next frame has Mom with her angry face on and someone else looking guilty, then comes the retaliation shot caught on film... It was a riot! (No, really, I mean that literally - where were the guys with the batons and rubber bullets to keep the mob in line??) The best ones finally came at the end when we asked Auntie Beth to come down and stand behind the camera. Thanks Bethie - you don't know what a blessing you were!
