Totally Unexpected

When we came home from visiting with G'ma Pearl - there were surprises waiting. The kids knew that there was some sort of surprise but had no idea what it might be - some guesses were:

Chocolate,
a chance to decorate the Christmas tree,
sewing projects,
lights on the house,
a cake....

but it turned out to be three early birthday presents with helmets!




We were barely in the driveway (car hadn't actually stopped moving) when three squealing kids poured out of the car and moved toward the bicycles like dieters to chocolate cake.






























Of course, it was too late to try them out much, but the bikes did get ridden down the front path and lovingly wheeled into the family room where they were tenderly wiped down and kissed goodnight. Tomorrow we will take them to church with us where they can be tested in the parking lot.
