On the run

In honor of my new-found love for running. I have committed to running (or at least attempting to run) a half-marathon this summer. (click on the logo to go check out the website and maps of the course and stuff.) Some friends who taught with me in N. Africa will be joining me for this fun and challenging event. Wish me well, and pray that I don't get injured as I step up my training preparations. ...Nothing like a deadline to make you get serious about a project! The race is purported to be easier than your average 1/2 marathon because you get to enjoy the entertainment of live bands placed every mile throughout the course. A running friend of mine once complained that a band was playing slow, melancholy music that slowed down his pace in a previous race.... Here's hoping for serious head-banging heart thumping music that helps me run faster!! (ok, maybe, in the context of the race I don't want to set myself up for any head-banging (picture: falling, banging head)) I guess I'll settle for a little old fashioned rock and roll instead.
P.S. I realized that the race is on the birthday of someone I am related to... I'll run on your behalf sweetie! And enjoy the after concert for you too! Happy Birthday!
P.P.S For those of you who worry about using pictures and logos without permission... I wrote to the really friendly Elite Racing Inc. people, and Zoe wrote me back right away with permission to use the above logo! Be proud of me for doing things the right way... I am!

Maybe there will be a Flock of Seagulls cover band along the route...
Yikes! I hope not... duck for cover. Actually today I had some good practice - the baseball teams were out practicing their pop-fly's while I ran.
awww, thanks! I'll be at prom on my birthday lol :-)

(PS it will be my birthday in Germany a day earlier, so that doesn't get you out of a phone call ;-) jk )
Nice that you got permission. I am proud
No I put those © on my page just for my insane need to be the "perfect" photographer that doesn't want some joe smoe to take my art.
