A day at the beach

We got to crash a friend's family reunion this past Saturday. It was a blast. We hung out at the beach and then ate around the campfire, went swimming at the pool and finished off the evening with hot cocoa and s'mores before we called it a night. Here is the biggest part of the shipwreck that this Oregon beach is famous for. Steven and I played pirates and eventually "jumped ship" from one of the portals in the bow of the ship.

We got to do lots of sand displacement. Strangely the kids were more into the digging than the dogs, who just enjoyed napping in the sun.

We found a great sand dune cliff and the kids and a few brave (or foolish?) adults (with medical coverage, I am hoping) had a blast jumping off of it.

As an avid photographer I often get left out of the pictures - here is the one photo of me that was on the 2gig drive full of pictures from the day... just enjoying the beach with two of my three while keeping an eye on Gillian the expert sand bridge architect.
