Fountain Fun

We are in Germany visiting my sister for a few days so that we can attend her Polterabend.
Today we went to an area that had a fountain that was interactive and Steven had a blast chasing and competing with the water spurts... until he accidentally got soaked to the skin. We were just at the beginning of our day so we were hesitant to head back home to get him a change of clothes. Instead we went into a Euro store (think Dollar store) where he could pick out his five euros of fun stuff and stay a bit warmer. (Each of the kids was awarded up to five Euros based on the "patience points" they earned during the trip here.) But in the end it was too cold for him, so I borrowed the key and headed to the car with him while everyone else finished shopping. Along the way back I noticed a family clothing store on one of the side streets and, remembering that Steven had outgrown all but two pairs of pants, decided that this was a good enough excuse for a new outfit.) So, we sidetracked and were able to change him into his new duds right in the changing room. Unfortunately, when we were at the cash register they couldn't get my card to work... So I ended up leaving my driver's license as collateral while my son-in his new dry clothes- and I escaped to find either a bank machine, or my sister with some Euro-cash. Sadly, while we were finding dry clothes for Steven, everyone else had finished their shopping and were waiting at the car wondering where we had disappeared to with the car keys. Eventually we made it back to the car where Steven climbed in to further warm up his little shivery body and played with his new Euro-store toys along with the girls while I found a cash machine that would take my card and went back to redeem my license and pay for the clothes. Another adventure of survival for the Selix family!
