Winter vacation
Playing "corners" in the car during the long drives (if you haven't heard of corners here is a breif description: overexaggerate the leaning on the corners in order to squish the person in the middle seat)
At a local restaurant we ordered five bread - usually bread at this type of restaurant is a little bigger than your hand - however, these were the size of extra large pizzas... no wonder the waiter thought we were odd ordering FIVE of them!
DRH, this picture's for you - you deserve a break today.
Abby and Aunt Liz pozin' on the roof.
So, while we were in the mountains we got to go on a lovely long hike up to a small rural village, where we got to see - OH LOOK! A CHICKEN! ... uh, what was I saying?
More sights from the carriage ride.
Just along for the ride!
City to the SouthEast - the main square of the medina. As night seeped in, so did the crowds of people. In the end, the kids and I felt like we barely made it out alive - what with all the beggars and entertainers trying to drag us back and the flood of nightlife trying to block us from leaving. I was never happier to see my car again!
Breakfast at a cafe in a city to the NorthEast - gotta love the fresh fruit juices, pastries and always the cafe noos-noos (half milk-half espresso)
My kiddos sitting on a dry fountain outside the glacier (ice cream shop)in the city to the SouthEast.
A horse-drawn carriage ride through the bustling tourist city.
Enjoying the sun, and a little nap (or perhaps passing out from the raunchy smells of the city)during our carriage ride.
Can you guess which palm tree is real and which is a cell phone tower?
The famous medina square
Glad to have my sis back with me for a visit in North Africa.
Steven makes friends quickly at the hotel restaurant in mountains to the south - so cold at night you could see your frosty breath - INSIDE the room, with the heat on!
Steven and (soon to be)Uncle Karl - off to explore.
Gilly against a backdrop of Atlas mountains.
"Mom, doesn't this look like the nativity scene?"
