McFitr for McRamadan

Although the kids and I are not fasting through Ramadan we enjoyed trying the Fitr (fast breaking) part of the meal at McDonalds. For only a few bucks more to your value meal you get the traditional soup, Harrira, a glass of milk, dates, and Sh'beckiah (deep-fried honey and sesame coated cookie). Mom was already wiped out from a long day which started with the kids getting Henna (see Abigail's arm in the picture of our family), then a birthday party (see previous post), and finally wrestleing everyone into the car to drive through the madness of pre-fitr driving (imagine people not eating or drinking all day, crabby tired and cranky, zooming home in their cars to get there in time for the sun to set) to get to McD's just as the sun went below the horizon.

**special thanks to the friend who loaned us his pictures for this post and the previous one

It’s so easy to get dates at McDonald’s during Ramadan!

yeah, but you have to check 'em out really closely, first, in case they are bad on the inside!
